Caramelized onion and Brie are a classic pair, usually found as baked Brie. Skip the fuss and get to the fun part (eating!) quicker with this recipe.

Step 1

Prepare the caramelized onions first (you can do the up to several days in advance). Thinly slice the red onion.

Put onions on a cast iron skillet over medium heat and a little bit of oil (about 1 tbsp of vegetable oil or a small pat of butter). Cook for about 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes to prevent burning. Lower the heat if they start burning too quickly.
