Seared Ahi Tuna Tacos With Mango Salad

Instructions

Step 1

Combine the mango, red onion, frozen corn, cilantro, lime juice, and salt and pepper to taste. Frozen corn holds its shape better and is not as sweet so it will not overpower the sweet mango. Use fresh corn if you prefer!


Step 2

Combine ingredients from soy sauce to cilantro and salt and pepper to taste and mix in a bowl. Set aside 1/2 of mixture, and add other 1/2 into a plastic bag. Add the tuna steak. It should look like the sauce on the left. Let tuna marinade for 30 min. Then coat evenly in sesame seed mixture.

In a skillet, add oil and heat to very high heat. Sear the ahi on both sides for about 1.5 minutes on the first side, and 1 minute on the other. The raw tuna is red, and the more it cooks the browner it gets. Watch the steak cook so you can cook to your preference of raw vs. cooked.
